Dot NAME Domain Names
Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level domain is the only one meant for personal websites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. At first, just third-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to obtain john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired third-level names remained working.
Through our company, you can order your .NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to update the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registration service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been finished. There are no specific regulations on who can buy a dot NAME domain, but in order to preserve the concept behind its establishment alive, the Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
The dot NAME universal top-level domain is among the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no further cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the exact spelling in your native language.
